The feeling of late summer
There is something about late summer that has always felt different to me.
The days are still warm and the evenings still carry that familiar summer light, but you can already feel the season beginning to change. The roads become quieter. The shadows grow longer. You start looking back at the weeks behind you while knowing that autumn is slowly approaching.
That feeling sits at the heart of Late Summer and My Guitar.
Keeping the music close
I wanted this album to feel simple and close. Acoustic guitars, warm melodies and songs that leave enough room to breathe. Nothing needs to shout. Sometimes a guitar, a voice and an honest feeling are enough.
The title came from the atmosphere surrounding the music. It brings to mind sitting outside near the end of a long day, when the heat has started to fade and everything becomes a little calmer. You have your guitar beside you, somewhere quiet to sit and perhaps a few thoughts that have followed you all day.
For me, indie folk works best in moments like these. It can accompany a drive without demanding attention. It can fill a quiet room without making it feel crowded. It can also bring back memories you had almost forgotten.
Late Summer and My Guitar belongs to that space.
Where the album belongs
The album is connected to many of the themes that continue to shape Deanarrow90: nature, changing seasons, open roads, memory and the feeling of finding your way home. These ideas may appear simple, but they are often the things that stay with us the longest.
I also wanted the album to feel natural rather than perfect. Real emotion is rarely perfectly arranged. It arrives unexpectedly, changes while we are trying to understand it and sometimes disappears before we can find the right words.
Music gives those moments somewhere to live.
You can listen to the album while travelling, working, sitting outside or simply taking a little time away from everything. There is no correct way to experience it. I hope each listener finds a different song or small moment that feels personal to them.

Releasing music is always a strange mixture of excitement and uncertainty. Once an album is available, it no longer belongs only to the person who created it. It becomes part of somebody else’s morning, journey or memory.
That is the part I value most.
