Indie Folk Radar is a new space for releases and announcements that may interest listeners who enjoy acoustic songwriting, contemporary folk and music that leaves room for quiet detail.

The aim is not to copy another publication or repeat a press release. It is to point listeners toward music worth exploring while keeping the original source visible.
Sera Cahoone returns with I’ve Missed You All These Years
Sera Cahoone released I’ve Missed You All These Years through Sub Pop on 28 August. The label presents the record as a meeting point between folk, country, blues and pop, shaped by loss, connection and the strength found in creative community.

Jake Xerxes Fussell follows The Old Beloved Path
Jake Xerxes Fussell’s sixth studio album, The Old Beloved Path, is scheduled for 18 September through Fat Possum Records. The official release page also introduces Rock Island Line as the lead single.

Rhiannon Giddens puts community at the centre
Rhiannon Giddens will release Hope Is the Thing With Feathers on 18 September. Her official store describes a ten-song collection inspired by people coming together and drawing strength from one another.
The record was made live with few overdubs, according to the official announcement. That direct approach makes it an interesting release for anyone who values the sound of musicians responding to each other in the room.
The Tallest Man on Earth looks toward Swedish folk tradition
The Tallest Man on Earth has announced Just Beyond Endless Mountain for 9 October through ANTI- Records. The first single, Deliver Me From Trying, arrived on 11 August.
The label connects the new work to Swedish folk traditions and to Kristian Matsson’s return to Dalarna. That makes this a release to watch for listeners who are curious about how local musical memory can reshape modern songwriting without simply recreating the past.
Brandes begins the road toward Still Life
UK singer-songwriter Brandes released Love In Two Degrees on 28 August. His official site describes it as the first single from Still Life, an album currently planned for early 2027.
Brandes places his music between poetic folk, acoustic indie rock and world music. Including a smaller independent name beside established artists is part of what Indie Folk Radar should do: make the listening path wider without pretending every project sounds the same.
